Speculative design workshop, A. Farm International Artists Residency, 2025

With the rise of tools like ChatGPT, artificial intelligence (AI) has become omnipresent in our lives. However, its design and deployment is often controlled by corporations that seem far away, beyond our control.
During this workshop, the A.Farm community were invited to imagine an AI future that is non-extractive and less output-driven, designed from a Vietnamese perspective. Participants engaged in a speculative design process, by first playing a prompt-generating game and then sketching out a potential future. The aim of the workshop was to create a space for the community to rethink our relationship to the algorithmic and imagine technologies that center our lived experiences, senses, and values.
