ANH + QUAN

Garments made from deadstock wool, cotton, and polyester tulle, 2017
Photographed by Jeana Lindo

This collection of garments explores the artist's sense of identity residing in multiple interlocking worlds--between Vietnam and America, male and female, citizen and immigrant. They attempt to translate these voided spaces into figures that are more concrete and familiar by superimposing their own image onto their father, Quan, to create an avatar of ideal self.
